Digital Desk: Sajid Nadiadwala is one of Bollywood's directors and producers who isn't scared to experiment with new stuff. Sajid has helped various actors advance in their careers. However, it was Govinda who, in a way, organised the initial encounter between Sajid and Divya Bharti.
In the year 1990, Sajid and Divya's love affair began its initial steps on the sets of the film "Shola Aur Shabnam". Govinda and Divya were filming at Film City for this project. Everyone was taken aback by the ravishingly beautiful Divya. Sajid was no exception. He was so enthralled that he became a frequent visitor to the film's set. Sajid and Divya's love story began, and they quickly became closer.
The love tale quickly led to marriage. According to Sajid, Divya pressed on marriage, and she insisted on it too soon. He stated in an interview that Divya asked him to marry her on January 15, 1992. The reason for such haste was that Divya's name was being associated with her co-stars, which enraged her. She believed that marriage was the only way to put an end to such rumours.
Sajid Nadiadwala and Divya married in a private ceremony on May 10, 1992, at the former's Tulsi Apartment in Versova. Divya converted to Islam and took the name Sana. Sajid had described the significance of this intimate ritual. He said that Divya had married at a young age, when she was at the pinnacle of her profession. Sajid said that if the news of their marriage had leaked, the producers would have gone into a frenzy.
The married couple set out on their new adventure, but their pleasure did not last long. The actor died on April 5, 1993, after apparently falling from her house's balcony. There were also allegations levelled against Sajid, but the investigation was closed owing to a lack of proof.
