Digital Desk: Canadian singer-rapper Drake paid tribute to slain Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala on the first episode of his SiriusXM radio show Table for One.
Drake further announced his new album, titled Honestly, Nevermind. Previously, the Canadian singer had posted an Instagram story about Moosewala after his death, writing, "RIP Moose."
Drake performed Moosewala's popular singles "295" and "G-Sh*t" on the show, according to HipHopNMore. "295" debuted at number three on YouTube's Global Music Video chart and was just added to the Billboard Global 200 chart.
Last month, Sidhu Moosewala was slain in a drive-by shooting in Punjab. His death is thought to be linked to a gang fight.
Fans responded to Drake's Moosewala radio tribute with comments on an Instagram photo announcing the announcement. One fan said, "Damn respect to Drake for this one." Another fan wrote, "That's what he earned," while numerous others added heart emojis to the comments section.
Notably, gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who has been named as an accused and conspirator in Moosewala’s murder case, was reportedly produced in the court of the chief judicial magistrate at Mansa early on Wednesday morning and remanded in police custody for seven days, police sources said.
It may be mentioned that Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, popularly known as Sidhu Moosewala, hailed from a farmer’s family from Mansa’s Moosa village.
