Digital Desk: Kangana Ranaut has been unveiling numerous characters from her next flick, Emergency. In the movie, the actress will be seen playing former Indian Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi. The film's star-studded cast also includes Anupam Kher as Jayaprakash Narayan, Shreyas Talpade as former Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Mahima Chaudhry as Pupul Jayakar and Milind Soman as Sam Manekshaw. Now, it has been revealed that Satish Kaushik will essay the role of Jagjivan Ram.
Satish Kaushik took to his official Instagram handle and shared his first look from Emergency. The actor will be seen playing the role of the late Defence Minister, Jagjivan Ram aka Babuji. Sharing his look on IG, the veteran actor wrote, "Honoured to essay the role of Jagjivan Ram, also known as Babuji, the most compassionate and the crusader of social justice in Kangana Ranaut directorial Emergency (sic)."
Kangana also shared Kaushik's look as Jagjivan Ram on her social media handle. The caption to her post read, "Last but not the least Presenting the powerhouse of talent Satish Kaushik as Jagjivan Ram in Emergency, popularly known as Babuji, he was one of the most revered politicians in the Indian political history. (sic)."
Directed by Kangana Ranaut, the film centers on the life of former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Ranaut will play the title role in the film, which is said to be about a watershed point in India's political history. Kangana and Renu Pitti produced the film. The entire Emergency team is currently busy shooting for the film. On the other hand, Ritesh Shah has written the screenplay and dialogues of the movie.
