Digital Desk: Shah Rukh Khan announced on Twitter that his
Knight Riders cricket club has added its first women's team. The women's team
of the Trinbago Knight Riders will compete in the inaugural Women's Caribbean
Premier League (WCPL).
Shah
Rukh Khan complimented his Knight Riders on the addition of their first-ever
women's team. The women's team of the Trinbago Knight Riders will compete in
the inaugural Women's Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) this year. The actor also
expressed his want to attend them perform live at the WCPL, which will begin on
August 30.
Shah
Rukh, who also owns the Kolkata Knight Riders, Los Angeles Knight Riders, and
Abu Dhabi Knight Riders, expressed his delight over the news on Twitter on
Friday. The actor commented, "This is such a great occasion for all of us
at @KKRiders @ADKRiders and of course the lovely group of folks at
@TKRiders," in response to the Trinbago Knight Riders' announcement tweet.
I'm hoping to make it there to witness it in person!!"
Apart
from TKR, the other two teams confirmed to have entered the league are Barbados
Royals, and Guyana Amazon Warriors. WCPL will be held concurrently with the
men’s CPL.
Shah
Rukh, who owns the Knight Riders Group with actor Juhi Chawla, was unable to
attend the IPL auction in February. The actors were represented at the occasion
by Shah Rukh's daughters Aryan Khan and Suhana Khan, as well as Juhi's daughter
Jhanvi Mehta. During the 2022 IPL, Suhana, Aryan, and their younger brother
AbRam attended KKR's matches in Mumbai.
