World Music Day: Singer Papon says it's good to reminisce about the importance of music

Papon, attending MTV's World Music Day Carnival, believes that music is to be celebrated daily and is essential to everyone's life.

Digital Desk: World Music Day is observed on June 21 each year. Instead of reaching for your headphones to listen to your favourite songs, you can celebrate the day in style by watching Papon and other singers.

The World Music Day Carnival, hosted by Sukriti and Prakriti Kakar, will feature artists Papon, Agnee, Faridkot, Nikhita Gandhi, and Shashaa Tirupati, and Shilpa Rao.

Papon says of the special show, which will air on MTV BEATS and Vh1 on June 21 at 12 p.m. and 4 p.m., and at 1.30 p.m. on MTV, "It's more of a celebration of the collaboration of many artists. It isn't a full concert, but there is plenty of fun, games, and discussions about music and our journey."

"World Music Day is a good day to remind us how important music is in our lives. Otherwise, it's music day every day. But it's nice to remember a day when everyone celebrates music. It is an important part of everyone's life, so it is a wonderful day to celebrate, "he adds.

Papon, who has many hits such as 'Moh Moh Ke Dhaage,' 'Bulleya,' 'Humnava,' 'Kaun Mera,' and 'Kyon,' celebrates World Music Day every week. "For the past few months, I've been releasing one song every ten days. They've been cooking since I was imprisoned in my home for two years. The songs are now available for purchase."

"I'm not doing anything special to commemorate World Music Day, but I recently released a song. I'll be releasing another song after World Music Day."

As a singer, he has explored many genres in multiple languages, but he would also like to hear new talents, voices, and sounds.

"I think all songs are good songs, so it's good to play any good song, no matter the language. I sang in several languages ; sometimes, it's nice to hear my voice in another. When I hear about it, I think it's interesting and fun, "Papon said.

As Assam's cultural ambassador, the singer, one of India's celebrities who attended the prestigious Cannes Film Festival last May, often delights fans with Assamese music. He recently worked with singer Shreya Goshal for a love song on Koi Nidiya Kiyav in Tiva, Bodo, and Assam.

He said he likes to sing in Assam. "I spoke with poets in other languages. They always say phonetics are so beautiful that singing in that language (Assam) sounds interesting. Because it's my mother tongue, it's more beautiful, comfortable, and interesting to sing in that language. "

Along with Papong's new song, he expects to sing on stage. Papon said that the show is scheduled to start in October.
