Digital Desk: With 843 fresh Covid cases, India recorded its highest single-day tally of infections in over four months on Saturday. According to data from the Union Health Ministry, the number of active cases has risen to 5,389. With the new cases, the country's caseload has risen to 4.46 crore (4,46,94,349). The death toll increased to 5,30,799, with four fatalities, according to data updated at 8 a.m. While Jharkhand and Maharashtra each recorded one death, Kerala reconciled two.
At 5,839, active cases now account for 0.01 percent of overall infections. According to the health ministry's website, the national Covi-19 recovery percentage was 98.8 percent.
The total number of people who have recovered from the disease has risen to 4,41,58,161, with a case fatality rate of 1.19 percent. According to the ministry's website, 220.64 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine have been administered as part of the countrywide vaccination drive.
