Digital Desk: The Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR) issued
guidelines on Monday for the management of type 1 diabetes. The guidelines
are released by Prof. (Dr) Balram Bhargava,
Secretary-DHR and DG-ICMR.
Dr. Nikhil

about the primary features of the new recommendations for Type 1 Diabetes in
Children and Adolescents, as well as the disease's management and
complications.
He explained,
"Type 1 diabetes usually appears early in life, affecting children and
teenagers, resulting in a long amount of time spent living with the
disease." It's a potentially life-threatening illness that, if left
undetected and/or untreated, can lead to serious metabolic consequences and
even death.
"The
recommendations offer a practical strategy to treat this illness and its
complications." "He stated that endocrinologists, diabetologists,
pediatricians, nephrologists, ophthalmologists, cardiologists, neurologists,
and nutritionists are among the contributors."
These
principles, according to Dr. Nikhil, will provide "As a result, the
article offers a multidisciplinary perspective on the complexities of managing
this condition. We hope that widespread dissemination and adoption will have a
substantial impact on the health of people who are suffering from this
condition."
