Centre is working ‘relentlessly’ to strengthen health services across country: Union Health Minister
Mandaviya on the second day of his visit took part in a number of activities and attended the ceremony to lay the foundation for a Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) centre in the nearby town Avadi.

Digital Desk: Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said on Sunday that the central government is working ‘relentlessly’ to strengthen the health services in the country so that every citizen is able to access quality medical treatment.

Mandaviya on the second day of his visit took part in a number of activities and attended the ceremony to lay the foundation for a Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) centre in the nearby town Avadi.

Meanwhile, after virtually laying the foundation stone of the centre, he said, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government is working relentlessly to strengthen the health services across the country to ensure that every citizen has access to quality health today," he said after virtually laying the foundation stone of the centre.

He expressed his hope that everyone will benefit from the CGHS centre in the "coming times," noting that a disease does not 'knock on the door'.

The centre (in Avadi) with a large polyclinic facility will increase the coverage and accessibility of CGHS services and assist both active and retired central government personnel, the official said.

Mandaviya also went to the city's multi-super speciality hospital run by the Tamil Nadu government to learn more about the services it offers. He also looked over the hospital's robotic surgery device.

According to Mandaviya, "state-of-the-art facility enables doctors to conduct complex major surgery with ease by using robotic equipment."

The Union minister spoke with patients and those undergoing procedures at the hospital using advanced technologies to treat severe sports injuries during his brief visit.

Mandaviya took part in a bike rally in the day at Kamarajar Salai, which is often known as 'the famous Beach road' located near the Marina Beach in the city.

Mandaviya, after flagging off the ‘Fit India, Healthy India’ cycle rally in the city said, "Ride as much or as little, as long or as short as you feel, but do ride."
