    Digital Desk: The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported a magnitude 7.3 earthquake in the Kermadec Islands region near New Zealand on Monday.

    According to Reuters, the quake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometres.

    Following the earthquake, the US Tsunami Warning System predicts a tsunami threat.

    An earthquake measuring 7.1 on the Richter scale rocked the Kermadec Islands last month.


    The earthquake's longitude was -178.02 and its latitude was -29.95, according to the National Centre for Seismology.

    The National Centre for Seismology reported a 7.2 magnitude earthquake in New Zealand's Kermadec Islands on Monday. 

    So yet, however, no fatalities have been reported as a result of the earthquake.
