Digital Desk: Israeli military forces continued their offensive against Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip on Thursday morning, pressing ahead with strikes despite an imminent ceasefire. While Israel agreed to a temporary halt in hostilities and a partial prisoner exchange on Wednesday, final details are still being worked out.

Qatar's foreign ministry spokesperson, Majid bin Mohammed Al Ansari, hinted at an impending announcement regarding the temporary ceasefire, suggesting that it could be made within hours.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported ground forces striking terror targets in Jabaliya. Aerial drones, under the guidance of ground forces, successfully targeted an armed terror squad approaching Israeli soldiers. Additionally, a drone strike obliterated a Hamas observation post deemed a threat to Israeli forces.

In the northern Gaza region, multiple Hamas terror cells were neutralized by tank fire and aerial drone attacks. IDF soldiers discovered tunnel shafts inside a mosque, a civilian residence, and an agricultural area in Beit Hanoun, uncovering numerous weapons in the process.

According to the IDF, the past day saw over 300 Hamas terror targets hit by aerial strikes. These targets included military command centers, underground terror tunnels, weapon storage facilities, weapon manufacturing sites, and anti-tank missile launch posts.

The conflict has taken a heavy toll, with at least 1,200 casualties reported in Hamas attacks on Israeli communities near the Gaza border on October 7. Additionally, 240 individuals, comprising men, women, children, and soldiers, were taken hostage by Hamas. Israeli authorities are actively working to identify bodies and locate missing persons as the situation unfolds.
