    Newborn baby found covered in blood-soaked paper in plane’s trash can

    Digital Desk: A newborn baby was found from inside a trash can in an aircraft, covered in blood-soaked paper. Airport officials during an inspection round found the newborn abandoned inside the Plane's trash can, said media reports.





    The rescue officials suspect a 20-year-old woman from Madagascar might have given birth on the Air Mauritius plane. The newborn baby was rescued after the aircraft landed at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport on January 1, as per BBC reports.





    Following the rescue of the baby, the officials took him to the hospital where doctors have confirmed the baby is doing well.

    The newborn was spotted when airport officers were on their routine customs check, reported Cities Newsroom.





    Soon after the rescue, the baby was rushed to a public hospital for treatment who was found covered in blood-stained toilet paper.





    Soon after, the airport officials alerted the ground staff and caught hold of the woman suspected to have given birth to the baby boy. Initially, the woman denied giving birth, but after a medical examination was conducted, it was confirmed that she had delivered the baby, the BBC said in its report.

    The woman is kept under police surveillance at the hospital where the newborn is undergoing treatment.
