    No Survivors Found After Nepal Plane Crashed, 5 of Them Indians

    While landing at Nepal's newly established airport in Pokhara, a Yeti Airlines passenger plane crashed into a river gorge. 72 persons on board, including five Indians, are believed to be dead.


    Digital Desk: The Nepal Army reported on Monday that no one has been retrieved alive from the site of a plane accident that occurred on Sunday in the central vacation city of Pokhara.


    "No one alive has been rescued from the crash scene," stated Nepal Army Spokesperson Krishna Prasad Bhandari.


    While landing at Nepal's newly established airport in Pokhara, a Yeti Airlines passenger plane crashed into a river gorge. 72 persons on board, including five Indians, are believed to be dead.


    Following Sunday's aeroplane disaster in Pokhara, Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal convened an emergency meeting of the Council of Ministers.


    A twin-engine turboprop ATR 72 plane crashed en route from Kathmandu to Pokhara in Nepal. The Nepalese government has formed a special panel to investigate the crash's causes. A report is due in 45 days.


    Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed his condolences and prayed for the families of the Nepal plane tragedy victims.


    "Pained by the tragic air crash in Nepal in which precious lives have been lost, including Indian nationals. In this hour of grief, my thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved families," PM Modi tweeted.


    External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar also offered his condolences to the victims and expressed his anguish over the occurrence. "When I heard about the aviation crash in Pokhara, Nepal, I was devastated. Our hearts go out to the devastated families "He tweeted about it.


    Nepal's Civil Aviation Authority stated in a statement earlier on Sunday that the flight had 68 people, including five Indians, four Russians, and one Irish national.
