Pakistan Police arrive at former PM Imran Khan’s residence, arrest likely in Toshakhana case
Imran Khan was accused of illegally selling gifts that he got from the Toshakhana state depository while serving as prime minister.

Digital Desk: Imran Khan's arrest warrant in connection with the Toshakhana case was presented by Islamabad Police when they arrived at his Zaman Park mansion in Lahore on Sunday, according to state news outlet Geo News. Days before, a sessions court had issued an arrest warrant for him in the Toshakhana case that was non-bailable due to his continued failure to appear before the court.

To prevent Imran Khan's potential arrest, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has urged all party members to visit his home right away.

If all legal procedures are met, the ousted PM will be arrested, sources said Geo News.

Fawad Chaudhry, senior vice president of the PTI, responded to the news by stating that "any attempt to arrest Imran Khan will seriously worsen the situation."

He added, "I want to issue a warning to this incompetent and anti-Pakistan government not to plunge Pakistan into a worse crisis and act responsibly.

Imran Khan was accused of illegally selling gifts that he got from the Toshakhana state depository while serving as prime minister. He was supposed to show up for the case hearing last week, but he didn't. His lawyers had said they would move the court to cancel the warrant because he was delayed from appearing for the hearing after going to three courts during the day.

It is to be noted that Imran Khan has been given a court date of March 7 and is required to appear in court according to the arrest warrant. According to a Geo News report, Imran Khan would be arrested today as per an order from the Inspector General of Islamabad.
