Digital Desk: Even as the couples Sachin-Seema Haider and Anju-Nasrullah continue to make headlines, another cross-border marriage has just taken place between an Indian groom and a Pakistani bride. Notably, the marriage was officially performed online. Ameena from Pakistan was virtually wed to Arbaaz, who lives in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, as the bride was unable to obtain an Indian visa for the wedding.

The ceremony took place on Wednesday night through video conferencing and with all the rituals. Family members and friends from both sides attended the wonderful celebration, which was officiated by Qazis from both Pakistan and India.

The entire wedding in Jodhpur was displayed on LED screens for the groom's family to see.

Mohammad Afzal's younger son, Arbaaz, announced that they would shortly apply for a visa for their newlywed bride to enter India.

The groom, Arbaaz, said, "Our relatives are in Pakistan. This is an arranged marriage through relatives. We were compelled to conduct it online due to the strained relations between the two countries at present. It will take a considerable amount of time to obtain a visa. That's why we decided to conduct it virtually."

The marriage would not be legally recognized in India if they would marry in Pakistan, so they would have to travel back to their home for the official wedding. They want to speed up the procedure, so they're going through the Indian Nikahnama to apply for a visa.

According to Afzal, online marriages are a good option for ordinary families because they are less expensive while still upholding the traditions of the sacred bond of matrimony. He continued by mentioning that the family of the bride is simple and did not incur a hefty cost. Arbaaz further stated that the marriage was arranged marriage. Arbaaz's family member is already married to a member of Ameena's family.
