    mass shooting occurred early on Monday in the Canadian province of British
    Columbia, killing a number of people.



    color:black">The community of Langley had previously had many shootings,
    prompting police to issue an emergency notice and ask locals to remain vigilant
    and keep clear of the scene.

    A representative for the
    Royal Canadian Mounted Police told the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation that a
    number of persons were slain, but she did not say how many.



     



    According to the CBC,
    the victims were homeless, and investigators believe the incident was
    premeditated.



    Two black SUVs, resembling those employed by police emergency
    response teams, were spotted in a ditch close to one of the gunshot locations
    by a Reuters eyewitness. The windscreen of one car had bullet holes in it.
