The new government meant the imposition of some stern and unexpected restrictions in accordance with international human rights norms, particularly for women. From disrupting their educational rights to banning their movement without a male companion, the Tablian has basically chained women's freedom.

    According to a shocking revelation, Afghan authorities have ordered textile shops to cover the faces of female mannequins. Pictures circulating on the internet showed mannequins dressed in beautiful gowns with their faces covered in polythene bags, scarves, and even aluminium foil.

    Sara Wahedi, an Afghan humanitarian, took to Twitter to address about the country's present situation. She shared a few pictures and stated, "The Taliban’s hatred of women extends beyond the living. It is now mandatory for store owners to cover the faces of mannequins. These dystopian images are a sign of how much worse life is going to become for Afghan women if the world doesn’t stand with them."


    The post, undoubtedly, drew a lot of attention. "It reflects their weakness. Strong men never control others, instead, they are believing in self-control," one user wrote. "But the bare arms and necks are OK, are they? How incongruous!" another user wrote.

    Earlier, shopkeepers were ordered to behead the mannequins or remove them from the display. Considering the previous limitations, the new ruling is a relief to store owners who, in reality, have no legal means of challenging the law.
