    Turkey earthquake: Body of missing Indian recovered from debris in Malatya
    Massive earthquakes in Turkey killed over 26,000 people and injured or displaced thousands more.


    Digital Desk: On Saturday in Malatya, the body of an Indian national was found buried beneath hotel debris. Vijay Kumar's body, an Indian national, was discovered days after several earthquakes shook Turkey, according to the Indian Embassy in Turkey.

    Vijay Kumar, from Uttarakhand's Pauri Garhwal District, works for a company in Bengaluru. He was originally from the Kotdwar district. The earthquakes that struck Turkey and Syria earlier this week occurred while he was away on business.




    On Saturday, the number of fatalities from the earthquakes in Syria and Turkey reached 26,000 people.

    EARTHQUAKES IN SYRIA AND TURKEY

    Massive earthquakes in Turkey killed over 26,000 people and injured or displaced thousands more.

    The first earthquake had a magnitude of 7.8, and it occurred close to Gaziantep and the Syrian border. Nine hours later, a second earthquake with a 7.6 Richter scale was recorded.

    Search and rescue efforts have not stopped since the tragedies that have devastated Turkey and Syria as a result of the earthquakes.
