Unusual-shaped planet WASP-103b discovered about 1.8k light yrs from solar system
Digital Desk:  Astronomers have recently discovered an unusual-shaped planet named WASP-103b a few years ago, similar to a potato.

Planet named WASP-103b was discovered in the constellation "Hercules", at approximately 1,800 light-years from the solar system.

According to sources, WASP-103b is a near distance away from its star WASP-103, which is nearly 50 times nearer to its sun than Earth is to its sun, to the time that the planet's cycle carries solely 22 hours, while the Earth's rotation takes 365 days.

Astronomers originally located this rare structured planet back in 2014. The research work of the astronomers counted that calculating the tidal deformation of the planet would permit it to evaluate the second-degree fluid Love number and acquire understanding into the inner structure of WASP-103.

The study stated that the Love number, a dimensionless parameter that counts the rigidity of a planetary body, displays WASP-103b is identical to Jupiter.

Susanna Barros, an astrophysicist at the University of Porto, Portugal, indicated that its radius is twice as large if this planet is 1.5 bits more immense than Jupiter. Barros expects that WASP-103b will be swollen because of its star's hotness and additional mechanisms.
