    Indian origin student critical after being stabbed multiple times in Australia; accused detained
    Sydney Police have apprehended the accused, identified as Daniel Norwood who has been charged with an attempt to murder.

    Digital Desk: A 28-year-old Indian student was stabbed multiple times at the corner of Pacific Highway and Gatacre Avenue Lane Cove in Sydney, Australia, last week, reports say. The victim suffered injuries to his face, chest and abdomen.

    The victim is identified as Shubham Garg. The Indian international student is in critical condition after undergoing surgery. As per reports, Shubham got help from a nearby house before being admitted to Royal North Shore Hospital.

    Sydney Police have apprehended the accused, identified as Daniel Norwood who has been charged with an attempt to murder.

    Reportedly, Shubham was greeted by an unknown man on October 6 at around 10:30 pm near the Pacific Highway Lane Cove of Sydney while he was strolling.

    The accused allegedly bullied the victim and asked for his mobile phone and cash. Shubham refused and was allegedly stabbed several times in the abdomen before the accused fled.

    To look into the matter, the North Shore Police Area Command detectives formed a Strike Force Prosy after the incident.

    The NSW police also seized several items from the home of the 27-year-old accused. The items have been sent for forensic examination.

    Daniel Norwood will remain in detention till December 14.
