Israel Marks 1year Anniversary of Hamas Attack

Hamas invaded Israeli territory across land, sea, and air…

Digital Desk: Hamas launched a significant surprise attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, one of the deadliest battles in recent years in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. It began in the early morning with rocket fire mixed with ground assaults and went on to cause tremendous causalities and destruction. During the onslaught, Hamas terrorists attacked neighborhoods and went on a rampage at a music festival, killing around 1,200 people, and injuring hundreds.

Hamas invaded Israeli territory across land, sea, and air.

Israel declared a state of war and had taken wrathful airstrikes on Gaza. The Israeli
military hit many Hamas targets. Gaza was also put under a complete blockade, cutting supplies of fuel, food, and electricity. The death tolls on both sides grew rapidly over the weekend with hundreds of civilian and military casualties in Israel and dozens dead in Gaza due to Israel's aerial assault.

This attack by Hamas has been unrivaled in intensity, caught Israel napping, and
questioned the preparedness of Israeli intelligence and military forces. It is being viewed as a direct challenge to the authority of Israel, and tensions in the region have mounted several fold.

The international community has been worried. Various voices of condemnation are being heard around the world with the attacks launched by Hamas, including from the U.S. and the European Union. Expressions of solidarity with Israel were also reported from several other countries, while Iran and Hezbollah came out in support.

Living conditions in Gaza have worsened from bad to worse, its civilian infrastructure has been seriously damaged, and the population of this thickly populated area has been deprived of most of its basic supplies. With such a conflict now
running for months international organizations have tried to resolve these
    matters in a friendlier way.
