Digital Desk: Dogs are a
person’s best friend and there is lot of evidence of this on the internet. In a
shocking incident, a woman was saved by her pet dog after they were attacked by
a mountain lion while hiking. The pooch was badly injured but her courage has
won million of hearts online.
Erin
Wilson was hiking with her 2-and-a-half year old Belgian Malinois Eva near the
Trinity River in Northern California. While on the stroll, a mountain lion
lunged at the 24-year-old, scratching her shoulder through the jacket. “I
yelled to Eva and she came running. And, she hit that cat really hard,” Erin
told the Sacramento Bee.
Wilson’s
husband informed SFGATE that Eva suffered two skull fractures, a punctured
sinus cavity and severe damage to her left eye.
“This is Eva. She saved
her human from a mountain lion. It pounced on them while they were hiking, and
Eva fought it off. She’s spent a few days in the hospital, but is expected to make
a full recovery and return home tonight. We are proud to award her our highest
honour,” reads the caption of the post.

Twitter also confirmed that Eva is now at home and is safe. “We just received
word that Eva is home safe and sound,” the post said.
Netizens applauded the
courage of Eva and called her a good girl in the comments section.
“Adorable,
brave doggie heroine!! She fought a fierce mountain lion & saved her
human's life,” a user wrote.
Another
user commented, “Such a good girl.”
In today’s world where
true friendship is rare, Eva showed us again that true friendship does exist.
