to news agency Reuters, British MP Rishi Sunak, one of the front-runners in the
contest for the position of UK prime minister, received the most votes (88) in
the first round.

Two candidates have been eliminated
after Round 1 of voting to select Boris Johnson's replacement as the head of
the Conservative Party and the UK Prime Minister. Nadhim Zahawi, the recently
appointed chancellor, and Jeremy Hunt, a former Cabinet minister, are no longer
in the running after failing to garner the support of at least 30 MPs.
