Taliban to restart stoning for women accused of adultery, says report

Digital Desk: The Taliban has pledged to begin publicly stoning women, claiming that the war against Western democracy will not end. The declaration was made, reportedly, by Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada, the Supreme Leader of the Taliban. The international community has been fighting for women's rights, which are in opposition to the Taliban's interpretation of Islamic Sharia, according to Akhundzada's announcement.

"You say it's a violation of women's rights when we stone them to death. But we will soon implement the punishment for adultery. We will flog women in public. We will stone them to death in public," The Telegraph quoted him as saying.

The Taliban swiftly reinstated severe public punishments, such as public executions and floggings, akin to those from their former administration in the late 1990s, despite their promises of a more moderate government.

The Taliban has drawn harsh criticism from the UN, which has urged the government to stop these actions.

Akhundzada claimed in his voice message that the world community's support for women's rights ran counter to the Taliban's strict interpretation of Islamic Sharia.

“The money that they receive from the international community as humanitarian aid is just feeding them against women,” Tala, a former civil servant, told The Telegraph from the capital Kabul.

Nevertheless, no nation recognises the administration of this nation. The international community has denounced the Taliban administration for limiting human rights in Afghanistan, particularly the ability of women and girls to work and receive an education.
