Guwahati: 2 Thieves apprehended, stolen bikes recovered

in Guwahati apprehended two infamous motorbike thieves on Sunday and
recovered stolen motorcycles from their hands, officials. informed.

The two bike thieves were
apprehended today, according to Fatasil Ambari Police Station officers. Three
stolen motorcycles were recovered from their custody by police.

The suspects were
identified as Kahid Ali, alias Ekra, and Rupchand Ali. They were history buffs,
with their names appearing in numerous earlier cases.

While one was apprehended
in Fatasil, the other was apprehended in Boragaon, Guwahati, according to
police officials.

On February 20, the Jorabat Police arrested a gang of eight bike lifters
from Assam and Meghalaya. The police recovered four bikes and a master key from
the gang of criminals' hands.

According to reports, five of the eight burglars were from Meghalaya. In
addition, one bike was retrieved from Meghalaya. According to the Jorabat
Police, they raided numerous locations in Guwahati and Meghalaya on Sunday and
Monday to apprehend the gang of bike lifters.

The inmates were apprehended by police shortly after the bust.

Previously, on February 10, two robbers were nabbed while attempting to
get into the Nagaon Paper Mill in Assam's Jagiroad. Sulaiman Ali and Mahibur
Rahman, both inhabitants of Jagiroad's Ghunusa gaon, were identified as the two
thieves.

According to accounts, the criminals were apprehended when they broke
into the paper mill premises through the boundary wall in order to steal some
important equipment.

After the robbers attempted to flee, the security personnel resorted to
fire blanks at them. However, after a brief chase, the guards apprehended the
thieves. The pair was subsequently turned over to the Jagiroad Police, who
launched an investigation before arresting the perpetrators.
