    World Rose Day for Cancer Patients is observed in memory of Melinda Rose, a 12-year-old Canadian girl who was diagnosed with Askin's tumour. 

    Askin Tumour is a rare type of blood cancer that many people are unaware of. According to specialists and medical authorities, the 12-year-old was not expected to live more than a few weeks.

    Despite this, Melinda survived for another six months due to her everlasting optimism and devotion. Through her poetry, letters, verses, and emails, the 12-year-old also dedicated her entire time to lifting the spirits of other cancer patients.

    Melinda truly gave each of her days meaning by making a significant and lasting difference in the lives of other cancer patients.
