Digital Desk: If used as per professional advice, many traditional Indian herbs and spices are filled with advantages that can help control health ailments including the common cold, the flu, and even blood sugar levels.

Ayurvedic doctor Dr. Dixa Bhavsar used Instagram to explain how adding specific herbs and spices to one's diet might help control the lifestyle condition due to the rise in diabetes patients in India.

Recently, I've been consulting a lot of diabetic patients. Here are some of the herbs that have miraculously decreased blood sugar levels by increasing pancreatic effectiveness and insulin sensitivity.

She claims that the following plants can be helpful.

    Guduchi/Giloy:

Bitter in flavour yet ideal for the liver, spleen, sugar levels, cough/cold, immunity, and other organs.

    Turmeric and amla

Nisha Amalki is a concoction of amla and turmeric in proportionate amounts. Among the various anti-diabetic formulations, it is one of the best.

She cited triphala, manjistha, and gokshur as excellent liver and kidney detoxifying herbs.

Shunthi, pippali, and marich are antidiabetic spices, as per Trikatu. They also boost metabolism.

She said that a few other herbs, such as curry leaves, moringa, cinnamon, fenugreek, Arjun, etc., are also helpful for diabetes and that they can also be used alone or in combination.

It all depends on what you find most comfortable and effective. Consult an ayurvedic expert to determine that. Please refrain from self-medicating, she urged.
