Do you have acne issues? Check the causes
While many people blame hormonal imbalance, poor skincare, and improper products for acne, there may be other hidden causes as well.

Digital Desk: One of the most common skin issues that both men and women experience is acne. While many people blame hormonal imbalance, poor skincare, and improper products for acne, there may be other hidden causes as well.

"There are a few underlying reasons that you may be having acne, and they aren't so evident," says dermatologist Dr. Geetika Mittal Gupta. So, here are some possible causes if your skin is breaking out but you're not sure why.

    Hair styling products

Hair styling products can harm both your skin and your hair. You might not be aware of it, but the majority of your hair products contain oil, which clogs pores and gets on your skin, Dr. Gupta said. As a result, if you start to notice acne near your hairline, stop using leave-in cosmetics.

    Significant sunscreen residue

Although you just cannot live without sunscreen, it may also be the cause of your acne. Some products are overly dense, clogging your pores and resulting in acne outbreaks. Find a sunscreen designed for skin that is prone to acne, she said.

    Birth control and medication

The expert also claims that some hormonal birth control pills and drugs can contribute to acne in some individuals. She advised you to speak with your doctor if this occurs.

    Facial hair removal

Waxing or shaving your face may be another covert cause of your acne. The physician explained, "When you wax or shave, the pore is left open, exposed, and can result in a pimple."

    Phone

Did you realise that using your phone could cause acne? If you don't clean your phone every day, it's probably covered in bacteria and germs that hang out on your skin. As a result, it is advised to "disinfect your phone at least once a day, at the end of the day".
