Fable or Fact: Is it true that toners can shrink your pores?
Dr. Kiran Lohia preferred Instagram to debunk common misconceptions about toners and explain their function.

Digital Desk: The CTM routine, which involves washing, toning, and moisturizing the skin in that specific order, is religiously followed by skincare devotees.

As a result, toners are given special consideration when ranking beauty items. What if you learned that they might not be as helpful as you had thought? Dr. Kiran Lohia addressed the issue on Instagram and dispelled numerous misunderstandings around toners in the process.

She captioned her post, listing the "function of the toner," saying, "When a prominent skincare business established the CTM approach, they worked out that they were going to raise their sales of skincare products by 30% by increasing the number of products in their regime by 1 more."

Here are some tips shared by Dr. Kiran-

    * Excess cleansing: Dr. Kiran said, debunking the notion that toners can offer additional cleansing, "You can use a facial wash that cleanses well without needing to apply a toner. Many people already double cleanse, making toners unnecessary.

*Shrink pores: Dr. Kiran said, completely dispelling this notion, "No toner can shrink your pores. I reiterate Your pores cannot be shrunk by a toner.

She said that because the skin is a "self-balancing organ," it automatically maintains a pH balance. Any acidic components in your cleansers get balanced there nonetheless as water has a pH of 7, she stated. "In any event, your cleanser is probably pH-balanced already."

Dr. Kiran shared some "toner lookalikes," including "mists with balancing or oil-reducing ingredients, Alpha Hydroxy or Beta Hydroxy acid-based toners for skin renewal or pore cleansing," saying that using them "might actually add value." She also mentioned that one can keep their face hydrated with "hydrosols, rosewater, or thermal water mists."

The expert had previously provided some simple advice on how to stay hydrated. She captioned the picture, "Staying hydrated will renew your skin, so it looks and feels smooth and silky."

Here are some do's and dont's for your skincare:

*Always have hot water or mist on hand to spritz dry or irritated skin.

*A hydrating or sleeping mask can keep the skin moisturized. They work well when applied overnight.

Water cannot be replaced, though. Making nimbu soda with lemon will be better for your skin than drinking plain water, she continued.
