However, according to some experts, rice is not the problem, but it is the way how you consume it.

Digital Desk: If you grew up in India, steaming hot Dal Chawal is certainly your go-to comfort food. Rice is a versatile grain that goes well with everything, including dal chawal, khichdi, sambhar rice, rajma chawal, and chole chawal. It is a staple food in India as it is one of the most widely farmed crops. However, rice has lost its allure due to fancy diet plans. Many people believe that eating rice causes weight gain. However, according to some experts, rice is not the problem, but it is the way how you consume it.

Rice is a low-fat food that is high in Vitamin B. It is a common food in many households since it is adaptable, inexpensive, and simple to prepare. However, many individuals dislike white rice as it is high in calories and starch.

Speaking to Health Shots, Dietician Surbhi Aggarwal shared different ways to eat rice without gaining weight. "Rice is one of the most energy-dense foods and is a cost-effective grain. It's simple to prepare and tastes great when paired with any curry or vegetables. Unfortunately, rice has a bad record in the diet business because of its rapid carbohydrate release. As a result, it quickly raises blood sugar levels and makes a person hungry. But the truth is that rice is a fantastic gluten-free, cholesterol-free, and fat-free option."

Follow These 5 Steps to Lose Weight While Eating Rice:

    • More curry, less rice: If you don't want to feel bloated, stick to the 1/3 guideline. With the rice, add one portion of curries and another portion with salad or vegetables. This will keep you fuller for longer and will provide you with plenty of fiber.

    • Khichdi: Khichdi contains 9 amino acids and is the greatest way to acquire your daily protein intake. It's a superfood from India.

    • Choose Basmati rice: Choose basmati rice if you have diabetes and enjoy rice. Eat only one cup of rice and avoid overeating it because it raises blood sugar levels. It goes well with vegetables and salad.

    • Eat rice in a bowl: If you want to eat rice, make sure to serve it in a tiny bowl rather than on a plate. If you're trying to lose weight, skip the second serving.

    • Portion control: Rice can be consumed almost every meal as long as portion control is maintained.
