Keeping a Buddha Idol at Home – Dos and Don’ts
Dos:
1. A Buddha statue would look great in your study or office reception area, in your meditation garden, or anywhere you practice yoga.
2. If you put a decorative Buddha image in your car, be sure it is facing forward.
3. The statue in the garden should face the house as it symbolizes wealth and success.
4. To remove negative energy and welcome visitors, keep the statue facing into the room unless it is facing the main entrance from another angle.
5. Additionally, you can purchase a canvas art painting of Buddha and hang it on your wall.
Don’ts
1. Never place a Buddha statue on the floor or near the soles of your shoes, as it is quite rude and disrespectful.
2. A piece of red paper should be placed beneath Buddha to add a lucky symbol to an altar setup.
3. Never keep a decorative Buddha statue in a safe or vault. However, it is allowed to keep a Buddha on a shelf with closed doors.
4. If you place Buddha statues in the living room, make sure they always face the front door.
5. Never keep the Lord Buddha statue in the storage area, the laundry room, or the restroom. Always keep it clean and don’t let the dirt settle on it.
