Vastu Tips: Never do this mistake while offering water to the Tulsi plant

Digital Desk: In Hinduism, the Tulsi plant is valued greatly and is compared to god since it has been given the status of Goddess Lakshmi, the Goddess of wealth. If you are facing financial difficulties, worshipping the Tulsi plant as Goddess Lakshmi and taking Tulsi-related measures would be of great value to you. But first, according to Vastu and Astrology, you must be aware of the major rules about keeping a Tulsi plant.

If you do not have a Tulsi plant in your house and want to plant it, then the best time to plant a Tulsi plant in the home is during the Kartik month. Tulsi is seen as a manifestation of the goddess Lakshmi and it is said that if you bring a Tulsi plant into your home and plant it in the month of Kartik, then Goddess Lakshmi also comes to the house. 

• As per the scriptures, Tulsi plants should be brought home on Thursdays during the month of Kartik. Thursday is the day of Lord Vishnu and Tulsi in the form of Lord Vishnu is very dear to Lord Krishna.

• According to Vastu Shastra, Tulsi plants should always be placed in the north or northeast corner of the house. Deities are claimed to reside in this area.

• Tulsi plants can be grown on the balcony or window of the home. However, care should be taken according to Vastu Shastra's instructions.

• Tulsi plants should never be placed in the south direction of the home, even by mistake. If you keep a Tulsi plant in that direction, you can incur a sizable financial loss because Pitru owns this direction.

• Tulsi plants can also be grown in the Northeast direction. 

• Never place tulsi plants near the front door or anywhere where people remove their shoes or store garbage.

• There is much misunderstanding about offering vermilion to the tulsi plant; however, Vastu Shastra states that it is acceptable to offer vermilion to the Tulsi plant. 

• The Tulsi plant should always be kept in an earthen pot. Never use plastic items. If possible, inscribe "Shri Krishna" using lime or turmeric on a Tulsi vase.

• Mercury, which the tulsi plant represents, is considered Lord Krishna's physical embodiment.

• Tulsi can be worshipped regularly but shouldn't be touched in the evening. In addition, you shouldn't touch Tulsi on Ekadashi, Sunday, or the days of a lunar or solar eclipse. Even on Sundays, water shouldn't be offered to Tulsi.

• In addition to water, raw milk can also be offered to Tulsi. Offering milk is thought to ward off bad luck.

• Never keep tulsi plants close to the kitchen or bathroom. However, a Tulsi plant can be kept close to the Puja room's window.

• If you wish to circumambulate Tulsi daily, you should do it while offering water to the plant. Water must be offered to the Sun first, followed by Tulsi.

• It would be best if you recited the mantra "Mahaprasad Janani, Sarva Saubhagyavardhini Adhik Vyadhi Har Nityam, Tulsi Tvam Namostute" while offering water to Tulsi.

• Tulsi leaves can be kept with Lord Krishna for 15 days, after which you can eat them as prasad.

• Normally, red Chunri is offered to Tulsi; however, Tulsi represents Mercury, and red is the colour of Mars. Mars and Mercury do not like each other. Venus and Saturn are Mercury's favourable planets. Therefore, Tulsi ji should receive a white, bright blue Chunri.

• One, three, five, or seven Tulsi plants should always be in your home. Never keep a tulsi plant in numbers 2, 4, or 6.

• Never touch tulsi plants with unwashed or unclean hands. Maa Lakshmi may become angry if you do this.
