2 crushed to death, many injured after being hit by train in Jharkhand's Jamtara

Digital Desk: The big news is coming from Jamtara, Jharkhand. Many passengers were run over by the train between Jamtara and Vidyasagar stations, as per the reports from AajTak. It is being said that 12 people were hit by the train in this accident. Till now the bodies of 2 people have been recovered. The exact estimate of the number of people who lost their lives due to darkness has not been revealed yet. The rescue operation is also getting delayed due to darkness.

According to the information, Bengaluru-Yesvantpur Express was passing in the down line. Meanwhile, the dust of the ballast dumped on the side of the line was flying, but seeing the dust, the driver suspected that the train was on fire and smoke was coming out.

Due to this, the passengers also got off as soon as the train was stopped, meanwhile, many passengers died after being hit by the EMU train going up.

News agency ANI tweets, “There is no incident of fire. As of now, two deaths have been confirmed. The deceased are not passengers, they are walking on the track. A 3-member JAG committee has been formed to enquire about the issue: Kaushik Mitra, CPRO, Eastern Railway.”

On the Jamtara train accident, Anant Kumar, SDM Jamtara says, "...Two bodies have been recovered. We've requested Railways to start a helpline number...The reason will be known after investigation..."

Railway police and local administration officials have reached the spot. 

Many of the injured are in critical condition and have been rushed to nearby hospitals. More details awaited into the matter.
