Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced compensation for people injured for Rs 50,000 and for the families of each deceased person at Rs 2 lakh.
Digital Desk: At least 8 people have died, and around 63 were reportedly injured in an explosion at a firecracker factory in Madhya Pradesh's Bairagarh village in Harda district, on Tuesday morning.
More than 50 houses close to the facility were destroyed by the explosion, reports said. According to reports, the explosion in the plant was caused by a significant amount of gunpowder present there.
The chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, has expressed his sorrow over the catastrophe and declared that anyone responsible for this bomb will not be spared at all. He declared that the offenders will face harsh punishment from the state administration.
"The incident of arson in the firecracker factory of Harda is heart-wrenching. In view of the seriousness of this incident, it is being monitored. Today I have postponed the night stay program of Aharwada village of Chhindwara district. We will not spare the culprits of the arson incident. The state government will take strict action against the culprits," Mohan Yadav wrote on his X account.
Additionally, Yadav has given the burn units at the medical colleges in Indore and Bhopal instructions to get ready for the arriving patients. In order to facilitate the victims' prompt transportation to the hospitals for treatment, a green corridor has also been constructed between Harda and Bhopal.
In order to handle any emergencies at the bomb site, more than 35 ambulances have also been dispatched from different districts to Harda.

The Prime Minister's Office shared Modi's statement in a post on X: "Distressed by the loss of lives due to the mishap at a cracker factory in Harda, Madhya Pradesh. Condolences to all those who have lost their loved ones. May those injured recover at the earliest. The local administration is assisting all those affected. Rs 2 lakh from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of each deceased. The injured will be given Rs. 50,000."
Additionally, President Droupadi Murmu conveyed his grief over the Harda incident and condolences to the families of the deceased.
"The news of death of many people due to fire in Harda, Madhya Pradesh is extremely sad. I express my deepest condolences to the bereaved families and pray for the speedy recovery of those injured," President Murmu wrote on her X account.
Vice President, Jagdeep Dhankar, also spoke on the Harda incident. "Deeply pained by the loss of lives due to a fire incident in a cracker factory in Harda, Madhya Pradesh. My thoughts are with the bereaved families in this hour of grief. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured," he wrote on his X account.
