AAP Nominates Harbhajan Singh for Rajya Sabha Poll from Punjab

Speaking with a news agency, Harbhajan said, "I have been endowed with a responsibility, which I will perform, above all, I will promote sports."

Digital Desk: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) announced Harbhajan Singh as its Rajya Sabha candidate from Punjab on Monday.

Moreover, AAP nominated Dr Sandeep Pathak, the party's poll strategist who designed the Punjab campaign, Raghav Chadha, the co-in-charge of Punjab affairs, and two businessmen, Sanjeev Arora of Ludhiana and Ashok Mittal of Lovely Professional University.

Speaking with a news agency, Harbhajan said, "I have been endowed with a responsibility, which I will perform, but above all, I will promote sports."

However, these opposition leaders have nominated many people born in Punjab but never enrolled to vote in the state in the past.

Reportedly, the five candidates arrived after the session ended today and filed their nomination papers at the office of Secretary Vidhan Sabha.

There hasn't been a single other candidate filing nomination paperwork yet. The deadline for filing nomination papers is 3 pm, and no party will likely meet that deadline.

Notably, the elections of two seats and three seats of  Rajya Sabha must be filed individually since they are from distinct biennial election cycles.
