Gaurav Gogoi's conscience is not as clean as his father’s
Digital Desk: Sibsagar’s MLA and Raijor Dal chief Akhil Gogoi has defended Gaurav Gogoi’s visit to Pakistan by asserting that traveling abroad with proper documentation does not constitute criminal behavior unless the purpose involves anti-national acts. Speaking to media interviews, Gogoi stated that Gaurav Gogoi obtained a valid passport, and visa, and official travel documents before visiting Pakistan for reasons that could not threaten India.
According to Gogoi, Pakistan travel or any other country does not violate the law as long as someone maintains no hostile intentions toward their nation or associations with terrorist organizations like ISIS. Gogoi made these remarks to counter claims against Gaurav Gogoi’s Pakistan visit, which generated substantial political controversy among the general public.
Akhil Gogoi challenged Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi by stating that his conscience lacks the moral purity his father Tarun Gogoi had during his lifetime. Former Chief Minister of Assam Tarun Gogoi received universal respect because of his integrity, which was well-known across political lines, according to the comment. Akhil Gogoi requested both the public sector and political watchers to hear his entire statement before forming their conclusions.
The MLA emphasized during his interview that international travel for politicians should not instigate disloyalty accusations unless specific evidence proves their wrongdoing. Any travel to Pakistan alone does not constitute treason according to his repeated assertions.
The controversy has ignited a fresh political exchange in Assam, with leaders from various parties weighing in on the matter. Several people have questioned Akhil Gogoi’s statements and international travel, but several others request a deeper comprehension of diplomatic activities and personal rights.
Gogoi stands his ground while defending his stance through continued debate regarding Gaurav Gogoi’s visit to Pakistan by maintaining adherence to transparency and legal protocols.
