On April 25, the Mumbai Police arrested Thapan and another accused, Punjabi man Sonu Subhash Chander (37).
Digital Desk: Mumbai Police stated on Wednesday that one of the accused in the Salman Khan firing case attempted suicide.
The person, who was identified as 32-year-old Anuj Thapan, was charged with providing two shooters outside Salman Khan's Mumbai home.
The sources claim that when Thapan was being held by the police, he attempted suicide. He was taken to GT Hospital in Mumbai immediately following the event, and his condition is still critical.
"One of the accused in DCB CID CR No 39/2024, namely Anuj Thapan, has reportedly attempted suicide. He has been admitted to Hospital," Mumbai Police said on Wednesday.
On April 25, the Mumbai Police arrested Thapan and another accused, Punjabi man Sonu Subhash Chander (37).
Notably, on Sunday, April 14, two males on bikes who were not recognized fired four shots outside the home of Bollywood actor Salman Khan in the Bandra neighborhood of Mumbai. The incident resulted in no injuries or deaths.
Two men opened fire outside the Galaxy Apartments at 4:51 am and then left the area. A Mumbai Police official stated that Salman Khan was at his residence at the time of the gunfire.
Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal, the two gunmen, were taken into custody by the Mumbai Police from Bhuj, Gujarat, after the shooting.
The Mumba Police detained Thapan and Chander after the two shooters confessed to their involvement in the whole episode.
In addition, the Mumbai Police used the severe Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against every individual detained in the investigation.
