The 2024 Lok Sabha polls will conclude on June 1, with the results scheduled to be announced on June 4.
Digital Desk: A senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader mentioned on Tuesday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is anticipated to visit the renowned Vivekananda Rock Memorial situated in Tamil Nadu's Kanyakumari district on May 31 for a brief spiritual retreat. This meditation break is scheduled to commence after the campaigning for the seventh and final phase of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 concludes on the evening of May 30.
PM Modi's arrival in Kanyakumari is expected on Thursday evening. His day-long meditation session at the Vivekananda Rock Memorial is set to commence on May 31 and conclude on June 1, following which he will depart for Delhi.
The Vivekananda Rock Memorial, a significant tourist attraction in Kanyakumari, pays homage to the 19th-century philosopher and author Swami Vivekananda. It is located adjacent to the monolithic statue of Tamil saint Tiruvalluvar on a rock in the sea, approximately 500 meters from the mainland, as described on the Tamil Nadu tourism website. This rock is encircled by the Laccadive Sea at the convergence of the Bay of Bengal, the Indian Ocean, and the Arabian Sea.
The party leader clarified that Modi’s visit to Kanyakumari is not associated with any BJP-related event and emphasized that his schedule will be known a day in advance.
Modi has a history of participating in religious rituals and visiting temples and historical sites. Similar to his 'meditation' excursion to the Kedarnath Shrine just before the final phase of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, he spent nearly 17 hours in meditation at the Rudra meditation cave in Uttarakhand on May 18. The Lok Sabha polls in 2019 concluded on May 19, with the results announced on May 23.
The 2024 Lok Sabha polls will conclude on June 1, with the results scheduled to be announced on June 4.
