    Digital Desk: The Supreme Court on Friday granted interim bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal till June 1. The decision was made by a bench consisting of Justices Sanjiv Khanna and Dipankar Datta after they heard both arguments. The Enforcement Directorate objected, claiming that running for office was not a constitutional right, but the interim release was granted in light of the current Lok Sabha election. Kejriwal will be free from jail on May 25 when Delhi votes thanks to an interim bail granted until June 1. Kejriwal must give himself up on June 2He will be in jail on June 4, the counting and the result day.

    Why Kejriwal granted 21-day interim bail: What ED said

    The ED opposed the interim bail for electioneering and said there are no such precedents available. The Supreme Court reasoned that granting 21-day interim bail to Kejriwal would not make much of a difference.
