Digital Desk: Approximately 60 schools in Bengaluru received an email early Friday morning alleging of "explosive devices on the school grounds."

Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayananda stated while talking to News18 that the email appears to be a scam and that police officers have scoured the city to inspect and safeguard every school mentioned.

"In 2022, 15 schools received a similar hoax email claiming that explosives were planted on school grounds. Our staff are searching thoroughly, but it appears to be a case of mischief," the Bengaluru Police Commissioner reportedly stated.

"There is no reason to panic. This appears to be a hoax, and we will ensure Bengaluru's safety," said the police commissioner.

School administrators notified the police, and teams of sniffer dogs and a Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad were dispatched to the schools that received the email threat.

As per reports, the email was sent to all schools on December 1 at 7:04 a.m. It alleges that the alleged act of planting explosives was carried out in vengeance for those "martyred on November 26 (26/11)."

The school administration promptly notified parents of students who had already come and urged them to return their children home while the police did a thorough search of the location.
