Digital Desk: The CEO of Mindful AI Lab, Suchana Seth was arrested on Monday while carrying her son's body in a bag in Chitradurga, Karnataka. She is accused of killing her 4-year-old son in a hotel room in Candolim, North Goa.
Top police sources claim that the accused mother killed herself to keep her estranged husband from meeting their child. The couple was married in 2010, and their son was born the 2019. But in 2020, disputes caused them to file for divorce. According to Goa DGP Jashpal Singh, the father was given permission by the court to see his child on Sundays, as reported to India Today.
The accused organized a trip to Goa with her child under pressure and was driven by her wish to prevent her ex-husband from meeting their son. The child was killed by her in the North Goa hotel room prior to the scheduled meeting.
Nidhin Valsan, the SP for North Goa, stated that the motive is still unknown after questioning the accused woman. "The accused stated that her marriage is problematic and that their divorce is almost finalized. There was also a court order causing distress to her."
The police said that her husband was out of the station and that they had asked him to return to India when she inquired about his location.
The woman had checked in with her child but left alone, which raised suspicions among the hotel staff, which led to the discovery of the crime. The woman was traveling alone, according to the taxi driver, who also confirmed this after the hotel staff alerted the local police.
The North Goa SP explained the crime's progression by saying, "A woman asked the hotel personnel to book a taxi for Bengaluru. When the hotel personnel went to clean the room after the check-out, they discovered red streaks, which they took to be blood. The police were notified right away by the staff. When the police arrived at the hotel, they made an effort to speak with the woman via the driver.
The woman told the authorities that the child had been staying at a friend's house. Nevertheless, the address the woman gave the police turned out to be fake.
"The driver was instructed to drive the vehicle to the police station, where the officers discovered the boy's death while inspecting the bags. The woman was taken into custody and a FIR was filed, said Nidhin Valsan.
