    "The next of kin of each deceased will get an ex-gratia payment from PMNRF of Rs 2 lakh. The injured will receive Rs 50,000," the Prime Minister's Office said in a statement.

    Digital Desk: The PM's National Relief Fund will provide an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh to each deceased person's next of kin and Rs 50,000 to the injured as part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's condolences for the deaths caused by the terrible Doda bus accident on Wednesday.

    "The bus accident in Doda, Jammu and Kashmir is distressing. My condolences to the families who have lost their near and dear ones. I pray that the injured recover at the earliest," the Office of the PM posted on X.

    "The next of kin of each deceased will get an ex-gratia payment from PMNRF of Rs 2 lakh. The injured will receive Rs 50,000," the Prime Minister's Office said in a statement.

    Today in Doda, Jammu and Kashmir, a bus plunged down a canyon, resulting in 36 fatalities and 19 injuries. In a post on X, Union Minister Jitendra Singh confirmed the 36 fatalities and stated that six injured individuals were listed as very ill.

    In a statement, Home Minister Amit Shah offered his sympathies and stated that the local government is actively participating in the rescue effort at the accident scene. The accident happened when the 55-person bus, travelling from Kishtwar to Jammu, swerved off the road and tumbled down the highway's steep slope close to Trungal in the Assar area.

    "Saddened to share the update from DC Doda Harvinder Singh from the spot of the accident. Unfortunately, 36 persons have died and 19 injured, out of whom 6 injured are serious," Minister Singh posted on X.

    The injured are being sent to Government Medical College Doda, according to the Union Minister, who also mentioned that he had a conversation with Harvinder Singh, the Doda District Commissioner.

    Singh said, "A helicopter service would be set up to move the more seriously injured individuals. Providing every assistance that is needed. I am in touch all the time."

    Lt Governor Manoj Sinha expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives."Extremely pained by the loss of lives in a tragic bus accident in Assar, Doda. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families & wish for a speedy recovery of those injured in the accident. Directed Div Com & Dist Admin to provide all necessary assistance to affected persons," Sinha tweeted.

    Mehbooba Mufti, the former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, expressed her condolences for the deaths in a post on X.

    "Deeply shocked & saddened about the tragic road accident at Assar in Doda. Deepest condolences to the families of those feared dead & hope the administration expedites rescue operations," Muft posted on X.
