Digital Desk: A serious accident occurred at 2:35 PM at Umiam Flyover when a Maruti Suzuki Wagon R with registration number ML 05 AC 5114 became involved, leading to severe traffic and congestion. Gobinda Biswas from Assam was driving the vehicle, as he drove toward Guwahati at excessive speed, which led to the accident.
According to initial reports, the driver lost control while navigating a curve on the flyover . Mr. Nobin Singh was thrown out of his seat when the vehicle hit the roadside fence due to its impact with the road boundary. Shri Nobin Singh received his head injury while sitting on the window frame as the front passenger in ML 05 AC 5114. He sustained severe harm to his head following the crash.
Two other passengers sitting in the back seat escaped unhurt. They have been identified as Shri Bijoy Singh, brother of the injured and also a resident of Mukhla, and Shri Baris Marboh, son of T. Marboh from Puriang.
The emergency responders immediately reached the location to transport Nobin Singh to Civil Hospital Nongpoh through an 108 ambulance while his brother accompanied him. The injured occupant of the car was brought to Civil Hospital Nongpoh via a 108 ambulance. The driver and the other uninjured passenger have been sent for medical examination.
The police have transported the involved vehicle to the Umiam Police Station for investigation purposes after the incident took place.
