"No kidnappings have occurred. The evidence at hand indicates that the kidnapping was staged. The student has been residing in Indore," said the Kota SP Amruta Duhan.
Digital Desk: Kavya Dhakad, a candidate for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) from Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh, was reportedly abducted earlier. Kavya, a student in Kota, has not been seen since March 17. Gurugram was where her phone was last seen.
However, even until March 19, there has been no trace of the girl. An investigating team from Kota now says that there has been no kidnapping.
The group has called it a ploy to extract money. The Times of India stated that the inquiry showed the girl and her boyfriend conspired to organize the kidnapping in order to obtain Rs 30 lakh, which would allow them to go abroad.
According to a screenshot of a WhatsApp conversation that has gone viral on social media, the father received the photos of the kidnapping.
The "kidnapper" said, "Send it to whomever you want to," after Kavya's father stated that he was sending the photos to the SP. Save your daughter by depositing Rs 30 lakh in the bank. Otherwise, she would be beheaded in the next picture."
The father replied that selling all of his property would not allow him to gather 30 lakh. To make whatever deposit he could, he persisted in asking for bank account information.
“Send the money by the evening. Otherwise, we’ll murder your daughter," prompt came the reply.
The 20-year-old and her boyfriend are thought to have traveled with a different friend. An additional acquaintance, whose Indore residence is purportedly where the kidnapping images were taken, has been apprehended by police.
"No kidnappings have occurred. The evidence at hand indicates that the kidnapping was staged. According to Kota SP Amruta Duhan, the student has been residing in Indore.
"Two companions were with the pupil. They wanted the same amount of money from their parents since they intended to study overseas," SP Duhan continued.
Kavya never enrolled in classes at the Kota Institute, according to SP Duhan. She said she had been in Indore during the whole kidnapping drama.
Jyotiraditya Scindia gives Kavya's father assurance
According to Dainik Bhaskar, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma was contacted earlier by Minister of Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia, who requested assistance in saving Kavya.
Police would look into it and get the girl back home as quickly as possible, Scindia had promised. In addition, he had promised the girl's father that his daughter would return safely.
