Digital Desk: Speaker of the Haryana Assembly Gian Chand Gupta said on Tuesday that the main opposition Congress had filed a vote of no confidence against the Manohar Lal Khattar government.
The debating time was set by the Speaker for this Thursday.
As mandated by the rules, Gupta granted the no-confidence motion following a head count of more than eighteen MLAs.
Bhupinder Singh Hooda, the Leader of the Opposition in the Haryana Assembly, recently charged that the Khattar administration had failed miserably on all fronts. Recently, he had declared that the Congress would present a resolution of no confidence while it was in session.

The opposition was recently challenged by Chief Minister Khattar to present a motion of no confidence during each session to get information about the government's accomplishments. He replied that otherwise people just talk without listening.
Khattar had also stated that Congress will have to listen to the government's efforts if they try to launch a no-confidence vote again.
In the ninety-member House, the BJP has forty-one MLAs while the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP), its alliance partner, has ten.
Gopal Kanda, the lone MLA for the Haryana Lokhit Party, joins six of the seven Independent members of the House in supporting the BJP.
The Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) has one MLA, compared to thirty for the major opposition Congress.
