Digital Desk: In a shocking and distressing incident, four children aged between 8 and 9 years old burned four puppies to death while the innocent animals were sleeping in a park in Kidwai Nagar, Uttar Pradesh. The tragic incident unfolded when the kids, who had gone to the park to play, noticed the puppies sleeping in a makeshift shelter constructed from straw and jute sacks.
Without any apparent reason, one of the children callously set the shelter ablaze using a matchstick, leaving the sleeping puppies with no chance to escape. The heartbreaking cries of the helpless animals alerted residents, who rushed to the scene. Tragically, by the time help arrived, the puppies had succumbed to the flames.
Three of the children fled from the spot upon the arrival of locals, but one 8-year-old was apprehended. Authorities were promptly notified, with the local animal welfare organization and police rushing to the spot. Assistant Commissioner of Police Amarnath Yadav assured that appropriate action would be taken based on the evidence gathered.
The puppies, born in Geeta Park, Kidwai Nagar, had a small hut built by locals to protect them from the cold. The motive behind the children's horrific act remains unclear, leaving the community in shock and disbelief.
