A very sad incident took place in Gujarat wherein, a very young nurse took a drastic step by taking her own life when she didn’t get the choice of partner she might have been wishing for.
A 22-year-old nurse ended her life by hanging after being unhappy with the groom chosen for her by her parents. The nurse allegedly committed suicide inside the state government-run Sir Takhtasinhji General Hospital in Gujarat’s Bhavnagar.
The nurse identified as Ami Makwana took the extreme step to protest her proposed marriage to a man chosen by her parents. Ami was working as a contractual nurse in the hospital and had joined the institution just one-and-a-half months ago.

Hospital workers found Ami hanging by a rope tied to the ceiling fan in the hospital store room, police said.
"The storeroom was also being used as a staffroom by members of the hospital. There is a washroom inside and a few chairs were placed there. When the guard went to the room at around 8:30 pm on Sunday, he found its door bolted from inside. He alerted the hospital administration, who then broke the glass panels on the door open and found the nurse hanging,” Hathising Gohil, police sub-inspector (PSI), Neelambaug, was quoted as saying by The Indian Express.
Ami's duty ended around 8 at night. A suicide note was found near the body, purportedly written by the nurse, as the police suspect.
Meanwhile, the police have registered a case of accidental death. Further investigations are underway to ascertain the main cause behind the nurse's death.
