Digital Desk: On December 22, a statewide protest against the recent suspension of 141 MPs from the parliament will be organised by the opposition INDIA alliance. Mallikarjun Kharge, the president of the Congress, made this announcement today after the allied parties met.
The suspension of 141 MPs is anti-democratic, our concern wasn't a mislaid one. Speaking at a press conference, Mr. Kharge stated, "We have been saying that the Prime Minister and the Home Minister should come to the House and brief the members of both Houses."
Following the conclusion of the INDIA meeting, Kharge indicated that the Opposition alliance will protest the suspension of MPs on December 22.
"This is the first time in the country that 151 members of parliament have been suspended. This is something we will fight for. This is wrong. We have come together to tackle this. We have decided to protest the suspension of MPs on December 22nd," he remarked.
The INDIA bloc meeting had been scheduled for December 6, but it had to be rescheduled after several major leaders, including Mamata Banerjee, MK Stalin, and Arvind Kejriwal, indicated they would be unable to attend.
