"Within two months of our marriage, he was posted to Siachen," Smriti revealed, highlighting the abrupt separation they faced early in their married life. Despite the distance, their bond remained strong, evident in their heartfelt conversations about future plans just days before tragedy struck.

"On July 18, we spoke about our dreams for the next 50 years. We planned our home and envisioned our future children," Smriti shared, her voice filled with emotion as she recalled their last conversation.

The devastating news of Captain Singh's passing on July 19 left Smriti shattered. "Now that I hold the Kirti Chakra in my hand, it makes his heroism real. He dedicated his life to saving others, his army family," she affirmed bravely.
