    Lok Sabha election 2024: 97 Crore registered voters, 10.5 lakh polling stations in India
    1.8 crore Indians who recently turned 18 and will be able to vote for the first time are included in this. 

    Digital Desk: The dates for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections will be announced today by the Indian Election Commission. 

     The following information relates to the next polls:

     • A total of 96.8 crore registered voters are qualified to cast ballots in the Lok Sabha elections of 2024. 

      • 1.8 crore Indians who recently turned 18 and will be able to vote for the first time are included in this. 

     • Women vote at a higher rate than men in twelve Indian states. 
     • Of the total electorate, 88.4 lakh are voters with disabilities and 48,000 identify as transgender. 

     • There will be 10.5 lakh voting places set up for the election. 

    • A workforce of 1.5 crore poll workers will be assigned to oversee these booths.

     • The elections will be conducted using 55 lakh electronic voting devices.

     •The Indian Election Commission has successfully held 400 assembly polls and 17 general elections.

     
     It will be necessary to form a new House before the current Lok Sabha's term ends on June 16th. Additionally, the terms of the assembly in Andhra Pradesh, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, and Odisha will expire in June.
