Mohan Yadav and Vishnu Deo Sai Set to Assume Chief Ministerial Roles in Respective States...
Digital Desk: In a significant political shift, the states of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh are poised to witness the swearing-in ceremonies of their new Chief Ministers, Mohan Yadav and Vishnu Deo Sai, today, December 13, 2023.
Mohan Yadav, designated as the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, is scheduled to take the oath of office at the Lal Parade Ground in the state capital. Simultaneously, Vishnu Deo Sai will take his oath at the Science College Ground in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, at 2 p.m.
The ceremonies are anticipated to draw notable political figures, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and several other dignitaries.
Madhya Pradesh, freshly victorious in a fiercely contested election, will see the appointment of two deputy chief ministers, Rajendra Shukla and Jagdish Devda. Additionally, former Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar is set to preside as the Assembly Speaker.
VD Sharma, the BJP state president, highlighted the historic significance of the upcoming oath-taking ceremony in Madhya Pradesh, emphasizing the esteemed presence of political stalwarts and the enthusiasm of party supporters.
The electoral journey for Madhya Pradesh unfolded with voting for 230 assembly seats held on November 17, culminating in the declaration of results on December 3. The BJP secured a resounding mandate by clinching 163 seats, relegating the Congress to a distant second with 66 seats.
In Chhattisgarh, BJP leader Vijay Kumar Sharma confirmed the presence of Prime Minister PM Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and other senior party members at the swearing-in ceremony for Vishnu Deo Sai. Sharma also expressed his best wishes for Mohan Yadav, the designated Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, praising his character and work ethic.
Vishnu Deo Sai, whose political journey commenced as a village sarpanch, served four consecutive terms as a Lok Sabha representative from the Raigarh constituency between 1999 and 2014. Despite not receiving a ticket for the 2019 Lok Sabha election, Sai's leadership has now steered him towards the Chief Ministerial position in Chhattisgarh.
The political landscape in Chhattisgarh, with 90 assembly constituencies, witnessed the BJP securing 54 seats while the Congress triumphed in 35, further solidifying Sai's ascent to power.
Ahead of their swearing-in ceremonies, both Chief Minister-designates have extended invitations to former political adversaries and dignitaries, signifying a spirit of inclusivity and unity in their new roles.
The ceremonies mark a new chapter in the political trajectories of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, heralding the onset of leadership transitions and the promise of governance aimed at steering these states toward greater progress and development.
